What happens if you say yes to Ranni? ›

Ranni will ask you to serve her once you reach her. There are no negative consequences to saying yes - only boons, such as more story questlines and unique rewards. You must complete Ranni's questline to continue Fia's Questline, which unlocks yet another unique ending as well.

You will need to immediately return to Rogier and speak to him again, and he will give you an excuse to give Ranni that can continue her questline. If he goes to sleep or dies, you will have no way to get this info, and the quest will fail.

Note that if you haven't spoken to the Ranni doll, the Baleful Shadow will not appear. Once you pick up the Miniature Ranni the Witch doll, you'll have this option to speak to it at a Site of Grace. You'll have to press this option several times to get a response.

A powerful witch, Empyrean, and antivillain inhabiting the body of a human-sized doll, and a major figure in the game's lore, she desires to overthrow the Greater Will, the Outer God that created the eponymous Elden Ring, replacing it with the power of the Dark Moon.

You ascend with Ranni to godhood, and the moon replaces the Erdtree. To activate this ending, you have to complete the Elden Ring Ranni quest and use her summon sign in the arena after you've beaten the final boss.

If the player somehow misses their first encounter with Ranni, this will not prevent her quest from being completed. She can next be found in the Liurnia region, at the top of Ranni's Rise. To access the area where Ranni's Rise resides, you must defeat Royal Knight Loretta at the Caria Manor.

Ranni's quest also leads to another ending, as does following Hyetta's quest which begins outside of Castle Morne. Remember, it's possible to complete Fia, Goldmask, Dung Eater, and Ranni's quests in one playthrough, then pick who to side with at the end.

What happens if you give Ranni the amber draught? ›

WARNING: Giving Ranni the Amber Draught will cause her to immediately wake up. She'll denounce you and cast you out of her tower, wanting nothing more to do with you, and ending her questline prematurely. Trying to mitigate this by attacking Seluvis will also cause her to become hostile.

I'll refrain from revealing anything significant, but be warned that Ranni's quest can affect Elden Ring's ending. Simply completing the quest won't lock you into anything, though.

It is an agile and fairly strong opponent, so take caution when fighting it. After defeating the Baleful Shadow, Ranni will thank the player and reward them with the Discarded Palace Key.
